Goodbye, Magazine/Press; Hello, Narrative Nonfiction

No class Wednesday.  Instead, attend one of the Julia Wertz events tomorrow or Wednesday--see below.

On Friday, Portfolio 1 is due--see the assignment details.

Which means we're moving on to our next unit: narrative nonfiction.  The Portfolio 2 Assignment is below.  The first project in this portfolio is a profile: you will be profiling a WRTC faculty member.  If you were not in class today, please e-mail me for the faculty member you have been assigned.  As soon as possible, you should e-mail your subject, briefly explain the assignment, ask permission to conduct an interview, and suggest a few possible dates and times for the interview.  Aim to set up the interview for sometime next week.

In addition, for Friday's class, please read pages 469 to 470 in Writing Today on "Interviewing People," as well as the profile on the author Edward P. Jones.  If you weren't in class, please pick up a copy of the profile in the box outside my office door (Harrison 1128).

See you in Roop!
